Let the fun continue.! This is the 72nd installment of a continuing fictional story. Before each new segment, the last paragraph from the prior edition will be shown in quotations.
“but never made it to hell and became lost in the cracks of the universe and many others as well are wandering the spirit world hoping to regain favor with God by coercing the wrongs of mankind. We are going to use those spirits to help us defeat this evil you call Weathers.’”
By C.L. Harmon
“Not so much praying to a deity, but more of an effort to communicate with those who are trolling the back hidden alley ways of the universe looking for redemption. Don’t kid yourself Blake! Weathers isn’t doing all these things alone. He can only influence the living, this is true. But there are other forces, darker forces, out there that can do more. If he can draw enough attention to the chaos he is creating, then others will join him. Walk with me again.” We moved toward the garden hose outside the church flower beds and I held the hose while he rinsed his hands of the dirt on them.
“Father, what do you mean others? Are you saying more like him…more like YOU will come?”
“That is exactly what I am saying!” His voice was still calm, but there was an absoluteness in it that was frightening in that somber tone. “Remember what I told you about looking at history! Do you really think Adolph Hitler did all the evil of Nazi Germany alone? Whatever entity initiated his immoral blitzkrieg that would become the Nazis, created enough havoc to attract other evil entities. Each one playing his part…whispering evil thoughts into soldiers’ and citizens’ minds, twisting lies into beliefs through propaganda, rewarding the darkest of actions with money and prestige and on and on and on…Everything thus far has been his attempt to draw other, stronger forces to his plight. Blake do you know what man’s achilles heel has always been; his downfall since the beginning?” I laid the hose on the ground and shut the water spicket off. I then leaned against the wall of the building and gently swayed it a back and forth motion.
“Man’s desire to place God in a box. Man only believes God exists in what he can relate to through his senses. Anything beyond that is just fairy tales conjured up out of the imagination. The imagination is not fiction! It is the gateway to a world that already exists, but is so frightening that man has convinced himself that it is not real. Well my son, it is real! Man’s refusal to accepts its reality has allowed every other entity to inhabit that realm and use it against humanity. God stays with man. If man refuses to accepts its reality and venture there, then God will not go there either. But he will follow you there if you go. Then he will guide you out if you believe in him.”
“What do I need to do Father?” He gently takes my hand and leads me to the ground in a kneeling position. My eyes were suddenly heavy and closed without any effort on my part. I felt him drop grains of dirt and wet mud in my hand before closing it into a fist within his hand. He began speaking in a tongue I did not understand as he had been doing when I arrived. My eye lids shuttered and then opened wide. I was there! What had only been an image locked in my imagination was now a world every bit as real as the one I lived in everyday.
